Mobile Gaming just got better, a lot better

The start of 2009 wasnt exactly great for Sony Ericsson going by the high standards the elite brand has made for itself.
But u can always trust the brilliant minds in there to come out with something innovative just when one thinks they r down and out.

And the results this time : the Sony Ericsson Yari with Gesture Gaming !

It uses an optical tracking technology (developed by GestureTek), so that the Yari (i m starting to love this name!) uses its camera to detect actual movements and converts them into gaming moves, of course, only in compatible games.

Mind you, this feature is in no way related to the Shake-It, or Sense-Me features revolutionised by earlier Sony phones. Those features used the in-built accelerometer, whereas gesture gamin uses the camera.

So, while playing a certain game, lets take tennis for instance, u hold ur phone in front of u and imagine it as a racket in ur hand ! Be careful though, losing some points may make u wish to throw your 'racket' away in anger ! and u may end up throwing Yari. Sony Ericsson phones are delicate pieces you see, but then, all beautiful things are !

  2. ya, very much the same tech
but incorporating it in a mobile is something great,
and thats just the gaming part,
it also has 5MP shooter, GPS receiver, and the ever-so-brilliant UI.
SE has always been superbly ergonomic (remember Mech Engg, design considerations !!)
