International Python conference was held at Symbiosis, Pune this year.
16th Friday to 18th Sunday was full packed with lots of talks on python.
I don't see any point in telling what is python, you can always wiki it.
The conference day 1 was friday so most of the developers working in companies did not attended. It was day of tutorials, 3 hours two session with a great lunch and tea in between.
I attended "web scrapping" in morning and then moved to "python with other languages" for next, but came out in between as the guy was freaking me out, but i guess i missed few cool things in next half.
Day 2 started with a key note and then many talks, same was Day 3. Raymond Hettinger was the attraction, who is working in python from long time and also gives training to google people on python.
Was shocked to see many colleagues there, normally they do not attend any conference. Me and one of my friend are always interested in conferences, it gives a kick start for any technology and then you can advance anytime easily.
Most of them visited the conference because their final year project is related to web or maybe they need python somewhere, which was not case with me.
The talks i loved personally were(in no particular order):
Python on android
Kivy framework for NUI
Subclassing in Python
Decorators
Web Scrapping
and few more..
There was a good talk on emacs too.
It was altogether 3days of world with technology and people who are master in that. I myself planned to give a lightning talk, but was not prepared, so next time in next conference :)
Heard Ruby Conference is going to be Pune, looking forward for it.

Running Graphics-C in windows 7 or Vista
DOSBOX VIEW

I have seen many people struggling over this so just thought to write a small post over this. Most of the SE students are working with the C-graphics and must be finding problem because of the operating system they are using.

I have seen many people struggling over this so just thought to write a small post over this. Most of the SE students are working with the C-graphics and must be finding problem because of the operating system they are using.
One of the two ways is(that i know):
1. Install Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 which is free of cost and plant MS XP in that. Dos mode works fine in XP.
2. I feel this one is better than the 1st one
Download a freeware Dos-box from here .
It's a emulator for dos ....provide a 16bit envoirment. Install the dos-box and open it.
You have to write following lines whenever you start the dos-box which opens just like a normal app.
-- Mount the drive in which you have turbo-C
For example i have turbo-C complier at location C:\tc\bin
so i write
mount c c:\
c:
cd tc
cd bin
tc
Have attached a pic of the same at top.
and you are done with it.
Use the Compiler as you use on a 16-bit machine.

JAVA or C# ??
This was latest question in mah mind. Well, both are object oriented programming and main difference i see is JAVA is made by SUN microsys and C# is its counterpart by Microsoft lol
I think after doing ur C langua its better to start off wid C++ which is a oop(object oriented programming) language, but on the oder way around its far better to go with either JAVA or C# which are easy 2 use and are OOP.
In these languages its easy 2 make windows application and have far more features than Cpp.
Now, if you have thought to start wid OOP language,, which one to start with?? its a hot question.
Well, its ma post so m writing mah thoughts :)
I started with JAVA but left in between becoz f many thngs out of 1 is mah mate froz3n.
We have decided to take part in mcrsft IC ,so we have to go with C#(a mcrsft product) :(
and finally i found its easy 2 go with C# than java (again its my thoughts only !!), mainly 4 C# you have 2 work in visual studio which luks far better than SDK of JAVA,,luks do matter.(dis is for SUN micrsys)
